Rainfall shocks and economic performance in four African countries | |||

This page provides a set of historical data series on rainfall and drought severity that were developed by Professors Jefferson and O'Connell as part of NSF grant 0213754, "Rainfall Shocks and Economic Growth in Sub-Saharan Africa." We are grateful to the NSF, and also to Swarthmore College which provided a Lang faculty fellowship to Professor O'Connell. For research assistance we are grateful to Martin Rio, Gyanu Sharma and David Mister, and to Eunice Kim who performed the final set of calculations and designed this web page.
